In addition to pretty much talking about these things nonstop with our friends and colleagues, and subscribing to virtually every travel magazine that exists, we also attend various travel shows around the world.
Most recently, we were at the International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) in Cannes, France in December. I had dozens of prescheduled meetings with representatives from the top luxury hotels in the world. In addition to that I was also invited to numerous parties for networking and relationship building.
Every time I come to a show like this I am amazed at the new offerings. For instance, more and more, guests around the world are able to enjoy prior palaces and castles that have been converted to luxury hotels.
Another trend I am noticing is that virtually all hotels are now on-board with implementing experiential travel at their properties. Plus, cuisine seems to be taking center stage at most hotels, with a huge emphasis on quality and innovation.
Keeping things fresh and up-to-date with what is new in the travel world is essential, and we are committed to extensively researching all our destinations. Fortunately for me, at ILTM, they are also up-to-date with my need for champagne .
